A Ream of Reviews

As I have been away from the blog for a while and have not posted any reviews for a while I thought I would shorten and amalgamate all of the reviews into one post to save time (both for me and you the reader).

The reviews are not in any kind of chronological order for when I read them as I am struggling to remember them all. If you click on the title it will take you to the books page on audio-fantasy.com a new website devoted to helping you find your next favourite book.

The Autumn Republic by Brian McClellan (book 3 in the Powder Mage Trilogy)

I love this series and was sad to be coming to the end of it, but what an end it was. If you have read the first two books then this book is a must read; if you haven’t then I would definitely recommend this series.

Brian McClellan has also released a number of novellas which give background stories for some of the main characters.

Half the World by Joe Abercrombie (Shattered Sea book 2)

Another great read from Mr. Abercrombie. This to me was more like his older more adult books that the first book Half a King which I reviewed here.

I would definitely recommend the work of this author.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

Written and narrated by Neil Gaiman. One of the few books that I have read recently that has been set not only on earth but in recent times too.

Great book and highly recommended.

Age of Iron by Angus Watson (The Iron Age Trilogy book 1)

Fantasy series set in the Iron Age anyone?

Awesome book and I’m looking forward to books 2 and 3.

The Demon Cycle series books 2 – 4 by Peter V. Brett

What can I say other than this is a great series. My only issue is that I now have to wait for book 5. You can see my review for book 1 in this series here

The Old Man’s War series books 2 – 4 by John Scalzi

This a consistently good sci-fi series. I already have books 5 and 6 lined up for listening to.

You can check out my review of book 1 in this series here.

Shaman by Kim Stanley Robinson

This novel is set in the ice age period and is story of surviving life 30,000 years ago.

A new author for me with this one but definitely one I will be returning to. If you haven’t read any of his work now is the time.

The Undying Mercenaries series books 1-4 by B.V. Larson

Good quick easy sci-fi. Thoroughly enjoyable and a must read for anyone who read and enjoyed his Star force series.

Book 5 out as ebook now and to be released in audio format soon.

I have quite possibly missed a few books off here as I haven’t been keeping notes on what I have read/listened to, but thanks again for taking the time to read.
